Note : MapCreate is a registered name of Lowrance Electronics.

Thanks to Lowrance Electronics for producing a GPS with uploadable maps and for the MapCreate CD and software.

OziMC is not intended as a replacement for the Lowrance MapCreate software but as a compliment to it.

OziMC creates data which will be written into the GPS, you use this software completely and absolutely at your own risk.

When using OziMC with the Lowrance Mapcreate software DO NOT email Lowrance if you are having problems.

Please read this help thoroughly before proceeding.

What happens if things go wrong

Like all software there are programing mistakes. There is also a good chance the data structures are not quite correct. There is also a very good chance the user will do something unexpected and cause things to go wrong.

These factors can cause the data uploaded to the GPS to be not quite correct.

If the data is not right this usually results in the GPS turning itself off when it attempts to display the map. During early development I did this many times to my Global Map 100 and it always turns back on. Reloading a known good map when on the signon or satellite screen restores the GPS to normal operation.

OziExplorer and Lowrance Mapcreate seem to be able to use data which is not quite right but the GPS will reject.

But you use this software completely and absolutely at your own risk.
