Names
Names is a feature used on the GPS to simply show names on the GPS screen.
Lowrance has 2 methods of displaying names
As a multiline name which must always be horizontal, this method is used for world maps.
As a single line name which can have a rotation, this method is used for smart maps.
The implementation of names in OziMC uses method 2 for both world maps and smart maps.
This means that as soon as you edit existing names they will become a single line name.
OziMC names are handled on the OziExplorer using the Point object (note this is not a
waypoint object). See the Points, Point Set Properties, Point
Properties, and Point Control help for details.
There are buttons on the OziExplorer Toolbar for creating Points and displaying the
point control. Points are managed in a very similar manner to tracks and most of the same
functions apply.
